Webzine > Blog

Some of you, reading this, may remember Stereokill’s humble beginnings, as a cute little Blogger page where I posted my judgements on various musicians. I’d like to think that since April 2008, when this began, the site has grown up. I still can’t really afford real hosting, but I’m willing to accept the one ad currently forced on me by my host. In an ideal world, of course, the site would be registered in the Cook Islands, á la Nathan Barley (if you haven’t seen the show, you won’t get the joke), but we make do with what we can beg, borrow, and steal.

Anyway, I recently made a decision, to start the transition from blog to full-fledged webzine. To that end, I have invited two good friends of mine – both talented musicians, able writers, and unrepentant music junkies – to join the Stereokill team as my new editors. So, welcome to Tom Rumbold and Andrew Lindsay, and it’s a pleasure to have you both on board. Both bring with them a great ear for new music and some superb contacts within their local music scenes.

Content-wise, today is a bumper day for Stereokill… as you might have noticed, I just put up an interview with Alex Rosamilia of The Gaslight Anthem, and I have it on good authority that Mr. Lindsay, our new Scottish correspondent, has some excellent coverage of Idlewild’s recent all-album live marathon in Glasgow (including an exclusive interview with guitarist Rod Jones). So, yeah, I think we have proven that Stereokill knows what’s hot right now.
