According to The Comatorium, a new album from The Mars Volta is expected to drop on June 19th, entitled Octahedron.
Upon release of the band’s last studio album, The Bedlam in Goliath, band leader Omar Rodriguez-Lopez stated that The Mars Volta’s next album would be their “acoustic” one, and that he expected it to be released before the end of 2008. It is currently unknown as to whether Octahedron is this same album, or an entirely new one. All that is known, however, is that the album will be produced by Rodriguez-Lopez, and that Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante is likely to appear on the release.
An official announcement is expected soon.
