Idlewild perform new album in full

Earlier this week, Scottish indie kings Idlewild performed their forthcoming studio album, Post Electric Blues, in full, alongside their debut album proper, Hope Is Important. The show was the first of three ‘album gigs’ which took place at Dingwalls, in London.

According to the setlist, the album’s tracklisting is as follows (note – these are likely to be abbreviated titles):

Younger Man
Readers
City Hall
Back To Life
Follow
Island
Post Electric Blues
Smithsy
Show Me
I’m Awake
Take Me Back

Fans in attendance state that the album is in a similar vein to their last two releases, Warnings/Promises (2005) and Make Another World (2007), and that guitarist Rod Jones sings lead vocals alongside Roddy Woomble on “I’m Awake”.

Originally scheduled for an April release, Post Electric Blues is expected any day now by fans that have pre-ordered the album. A number of set-backs at the pressing plant have resulted in its delay.
