Frightened Rabbit comes out of hiding

Here’s a video of Frightened Rabbit‘s Scott Hutchison performing a brand new song, entitled “Swim Until You Can’t See Land”, for Off the Beaten Tracks:

And here’s what he has to say about it:

The song was filmed in Dunbar Close Garden, just off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Some people walked past, asked if I was famous and then walked away again when they were told I wasn’t. Still, it was a nice place to play. It smelled like parsley whereas most venues smell of shit.

The song, “Swim Until You Can’t See Land” is a brand new ‘joint’ which plays about with the idea of getting lost at sea in order to escape all the nonsense that the mainland holds. I wrote it up in a wee village called Crail in the East Neuk of Fife. You should visit. The pottery shop is amaaaazing.

Truth be told, it’s great to hear new material. Last year’s The Midnight Organ Fight was, in my opinion, the finest album of 2008, and the more I hear this song, the more I hear the potential for another classic record.

In other news, Frightened Rabbit have recently set up a Twitter account. You can keep up to date with the the band’s antics here.
