I think they NEED to go back to Rivers singing all the songs. “I’m the Greatest Man that Ever Lived” is crap. If they make more songs like that, I’m stopping being a fan, and I swear by Weezer. Pat and Brian’s songs on the Red Album are very good, but Scott’s is crap. Let Rivers write all the songs, let him sing them, let him make another good Weezer album with minimal input from the other three. I have mad respect for Pat Wilson, but he’s no Rivers Cuomo. I liked it a lot better when Rivers was the dictator. Same thing with Oasis. As soon as other people start writing songs, the quality of the album goes down.

Hey Danerd,

I know they’re writing tracks for the new album – it’s just the fact that they are no longer going to be sharing the lead vocal duties.

Personally, I think Brian has one of the most underrated voices in rock.

Regarding the other band members songs not being on A7. It’s not true.

I don’t know if you’re aware but the other members are still writing for this album Rivers is just singing on those tracks too.

One track Called ” In the mall” is written by Patrick Wilson, It’s however not sung by pat but sung by rivers instead.

So while you might think its a step backwards its really not the others are still writing.

Just thought I’d give you a heads up.

very excited about another release from weezer, i too am a little bummed out that rivers is the only main singer, i liked that they other members were getting their chance to shine a bit as well, but i’m sure they still will live in the shows. another great record from weezer on the way? i think so! hope it all comes out during the summer, it’d be great to add it to my summer playlists
