After fifteen years and seven albums, alternative pop icons Weezer are parting ways with Geffen Records. During a stint hosting MTV’s Subterranean, frontman Rivers Cuomo revealed that the band plan on releasing material on their own from now on.

A deluxe edition of the band’s classic second album, Pinkerton, is due next year, alongside a rarities compilation, entitled Odds & Ends. It is presumed that both of these will be Weezer’s final Geffen releases.
