Oxford-based math rockers Youthmovies have announced an amicable split after nearly eight years together. In a lengthy blog posting, frontman Andrew Mears confirmed that after the currently-scheduled shows are completed that band will go their separate ways.
Regarding the nature of the split, Mears commented that “there’s a part of me that would love this to be an amputated, acerbic mess of a break-up, for the romance of it, but we’re still friends, still love to play and there’s no attitude about any of this.”
All five band members have announced plans outside Youthmovies in the coming year, so stay tuned.
