Jane’s Addiction to begin writing album four

According to frontman Perry Farrell, Jane’s Addiction will enter the studio this coming Monday to begin writing their fourth studio album. News of the session appeared on Farrell’s official Facebook page, when a fan, William Rennie Renshaw, enquired about the possibility of new material. Farrell replied directly with the following:

“We are, William. Monday we get together to write new music and craft a future.”

It is assumed that the core line-up of Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins will be working on the material, however, Avery’s involvement with Jane’s Addiction has been under scrutiny as of late: Strays-era bassist Chris Chaney filled in for an absent Avery on New Year’s Eve, while a recent photo shoot included only Farrell, Navarro, and Perkins.

Avery has since confirmed that he will be performing with the band during February’s rescheduled Australian tour, but whether he will choose to remain within the turbulent four-piece, following these dates, remains unclear.
