At the end of the day, Stereokill is just a bunch of music junkies writing about songs they love. In two years we’ve transformed from one guy’s blog into an online music magazine with a broad focus and a team of dedicated and passionate volunteer writers, editors and photographers.
Stereokill was founded on a single over-arching principle: that good music deserves to be written about. We don’t make any stipulations as to what exactly ‘good music’ is, because it’s obvious when you hear it. We are not infallible: in fact, we like to be told we’re wrong and to get embroiled in lengthy debates, so please make sure that if you think we’re wrong that you call us on it.
Dull legal stuff:
- Licensing: we reserve all rights to all original content, so please don’t re-publish entire articles without checking with us first.
- Downloads: sometimes we’ll offer tracks for download. When we do, we do so for purely promotional purposes and with the best of intentions. We will only use tracks that have been widely blogged elsewhere, are available as an official free download, or that we have been explicitly given permission to use. If you’re a copyright holder and have a problem with a track we posted, please drop us a line and we’ll sort it out.
- Images: it’s a bit of a drag trying to find images for every article, and it’s almost impossible for a volunteer-run ‘zine to have photographers at every event. So, more often than not, we just use Flickr. We generally try to use Creative Commons-licensed images, but if we can’t find one we may just use the first image we find. We will always credit and link the photographer, but if you have a problem with us using your image please get in touch and we’ll sort that out too.
