    Having made his name as vocalist for London hardcore mob Million Dead, Frank Turner’s 2007 solo debut Sleep is for the Week – in his own words, “a snapshot of pretty much exactly one year of my life” – met with unexpected success, and created for Turner a devoted fan-base. March 2008 saw the release of Turner’s second album, Love Ire & Song, cementing his place as one of Britain’s most popular folk artists. Now, nearing the end of a twelve-date headline tour of England and Scotland, Turner returned to his roots in London on 28th October, with an all-guns-blazing set at The Scala. Support from Chris T-T, Jonah Matranga, and Emily Barker. Marcus Kernohan reports.
